This generation will never forget about the disaster of Coronavirus disease(Covid-19). In the year 2019, this virus starts its action from the country China and later spreads from one country to another country. Finally the whole world is suffering from this virus. This virus just shakes several countries’ economic power and causes several deaths. Many people feel it is very hard to overcome this disease, and lots of them are depressed while suffering from this issue. 

The whole world is shut down for more than a month. Yes, so many industries and companies halt their function because of this virus. People are quarantining themselves in their home by taking precautionary steps. Several people are not able to move from one place to another place due to lockdown.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) report around the world 3.4 millions of people lost their lives due to COVID-19. This count is not the exact number, the death rate is more than 3.4 millions.

Two years later, just this virus slowly disappeared from this world, but later virus variants from COVID-19 also spread in a few countries. They are:

  • Alpha
  • Beta 
  • Delta
  • Omicron

The above mentioned variants are not causing severe trouble in people’s lives compared to COVID-19. But right now a new variant of coronavirus is spreading in a few countries. That new variant virus name is called JN.1 Variant. 

What is JN.1 Variant ?

One of the fastest growing variant viruses is JN.1. This is a sub variant of omicron virus and similar to BA.2.86 variant.

Now JN.1 variant spreading in the United States, according to the healthcare report JN. 1 accounted for 15 per cent to 29 per cent of the circulating COVID-19 variants. This JN.1 variant virus cases have been detected in some European countries, Singapore, China and India.

The new COVID variant JN.1 is transmissible highly and quickly so, few people should be need to taking some extra careful to avoid getting sick from a new sub-variant of COVID-19, as it can be serious and even deadly for:

  • Small children (0-10 years)
  • Pregnant women
  • Older people who are the age above 60 years. 
  • People who are suffering from chronic diseases: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), diabetes and hypertension.
  • People who are suffering with diseases such as HIV, cancers, and genetic immunological disorders.

People should be alert about this variant and taking some precaution steps is mandatory. Before going to following precaution steps, people should know the symptoms of JN.1 variant. 

Symptoms of the Covid-19 JN.1 Variant 

Each and every disease shows few symptoms and signs in the body. The JN.1 variant also shows some symptoms in the body. Here are the commonly observed symptoms associated with the JN.1 variant: 

Respiratory Symptoms 

The JN.1 variant virus mainly shows the symptoms in the respiratory system. 

  • Cough: Continued coughing can be a common symptom of this virus.
  • Shortness of Breath: People feel difficulty breathing. This shortness of breath may show the signs of a more severe health condition. 

Fever and Chills 

Fever is also an early symptom of this virus. This fever elevated body temperature, often accompanied by chills. This symptom can also COVID-19 infection. 

Fatigue and Body Aches 

  • Fatigue: People are feeling unusually tiredness and experiencing a lack of energy in their body. This also could be an early symptom ofJN.1 variant. 
  • Body Aches: Feeling huge muscular pain in the body. 

Loss of Taste and Smell 

People have doubts whether they have JN.1 virus infection in their body or not. One of the main symptoms can be confirmed with the JN.1 variant virus. Loss of taste in the tongues and lack of smell in the nose. These symptoms are indicative of the JN.1 variant. While people face these symptoms they are not able to taste their favorite food items. They are also not able to smell their favorite fragrance. 

Gastrointestinal Symptoms 

People are facing nausea, vomiting and diarrhea while suffering from the JN.1 variant. All the people do not experience gastrointestinal symptoms, although these are less common symptoms of JN.1 variant. 

Headache

Suffering from continuous headaches and also facing severe body pain. These symptoms can be an early sign of infection. 

Sore Throat 

Some people who are facing a scratchy or painful throat. People find it hard to speak continuously because of throat pain. 

Congestion or Runny Nose 

Congestion or a runny nose might occur while this JN.1 variant in the body. Some people are not taking the issue seriously, because this symptom will happen during the winter time. People should be taking precautionary steps while facing this nasal Symptom. 

Precaution steps For JN1 Covid-19 Variant

The precaution steps for the JN1 variant are similar to the ones followed during the COVID-19 period like: 

  • Vaccination – People should get vaccinated as per healthcare recommendations and stay updated on booster shot guidelines. Using the vaccination details helps when traveling from one country to another country. So people should get vaccinated based on government guidelines. 
  • Seek the Doctor help- If a person feels any of the above mentioned symptoms, it is best to seek the help from a health care expert or doctor to get the first-line treatment.
  • Always maintaining social distance- The JN.1 variant is spreading very quickly because of the large crowd. So people should avoid crowded places and unnecessary social gatherings. People should stay away from virus infected people. 
  • Always Wear masks- People should try to wear masks always when they step out for grocery shopping, malls, stadiums, hospitals, or visiting crowded places. 
  • Wash Hand with Sanitiser- People should always keep a hand sanitiser with them to maintain hand hygiene and ensure using it after touching an infected person or surface.
  • Cover up coughs and sneezes- People should always use a handkerchief or tissue to cover their mouth while sneezing or coughing in public places. This should be followed in their home, because it may be avoided to spread infection to the other person.
  • Do Not Share Your Belongings- In school days teachers teach about sharing, but during this time of infection, people should try to avoid sharing their things like comb, towel, handkerchiefs and utensils etc with others.
  • Follow healthy and nutritious food items-  Consuming healthy and natural nutrition’s foods are playing a vital role in the body’s health. So people should add food items containing a rich amount of immunity power and a rich amount of vitamin C, Vitamin D and zinc.

People should follow the precaution steps very strictly. At the same time people can confirm their infection status with the help of two tests such as Rapid Antigen test kit for COVID-19 and RT-PCR for COVID-19.Â
